The Chicago Aqua
July 14th 2006 23:17
Chicago has decided to add a "wavy" element to its recent development, aptly called the Chicago Aqua. Part of the Lakeshire East complex, this $300 million seemingly watery building will have 83 floors at a height of 253 m and will feature hotel and residential high-rises with retail and commercial spaces. It is said that architech Jeanne Gang and his marketing people agreed on the fluid design of the building to go with its lakefront view. The bumps in the building will also be tweaked to provide appropriate sun-shading and to accomodate living patterns.
The building has been tagged to be the most sensuous, curvaceous skyscraper yet. With a design like this, Chicago is truly set to spark a few more ideas across the world!

Lakeshire? A suburban London housing development perhaps. Being on the shores of a lake, Chicago has a lakeshore.
