Megaproject: Lanco Hills, Hyderabad, India

July 5th 2006 23:43

Probably one of the largest projects to be taken in India in recent times, the Lanco Group have set out plan to redevelop none other than the booming city of Hyderabad. The mega tecno-resitdential township of 18 million sq ft will spread across a 100 acre site with an investment outlay of nearly Rs. 36 billion!

A 90 storey tower, 16 X 30 storey towers, 12 X 20 storey towers, IT Parks, Megamall, 2 hotels (a 5 star and a 4 star)....are just some of the ideas are are expected to cover the new development area.

The project, expected to me completed in 3 years, would spawn a larger capacity in the Hitec City area where many international companies such as Microsoft have setup their headquarters.

If this development were to be completed successfully, it could probably surpass Bangalore's IT infrastructure and possibly match Mumbai and New Delhi, bringing the talent pool into the limelight!

well....its a home cook reciepe for disaster (the people involve does not have much experience in real estate- its a friend and family union)....this project is totally plastic.....till date Hyd has approved only 20 storey...30 storey is stil a dream....the CDA does not have any confidence in the project...(since majority of the services provided in the project are all artificial from ventillation to lighting)...and in indian condition realiability is a issue...neither the company is confident abt it- cause it lack the experience and ...this project is develped on a site...which was recently declared as a heritage site........the building does not take into account indian condition (specially the climate).....well....its a dream...hope 2 see it in reality...and if it becomes a reality ....god save hyd and good save the investor....

Your text goes hereEven before coming out with a proper plan, how they can start bookings??? They should make the people clear that Lanco too has the capability of handling such a big project....

the project is a joint venture by lanco, ,Morgan Stanly and Mantri constructions group. This combination is definitely worth taking a look at. If the price is right, it will turn out to be a good investment.

Well Hyderabad is becoming a very attractive business centre.Of late people have realised the potential of this place. The climate is friendly for quiet round the year.
The towers once in place will add beauty to the city.
Only when we dream,we can turn it into reality.
Likewise the people at Lanco has dreamnt of this massive place. Myself and my friends wish all the good luck to the Lanco organisation to acheive this extraordinary feat by overcoming all the obstacles.
Wishing you all the best and good luck.

The Business seems to transcend the politics, which rule the country. But the biggest factor is that "Does it Happen smoothly" ? It happens but when..? These are the questions that have to be answered. Uncertainlity is so much that we will have to wait to see that it is finished.. It may happen in 3 years or 10years.. This is the uncertainity....

I cant believe the booking getting closed in two days time....what is more surprising is the price at which they closed the booking. Looks like artificial closure...again as a typical business jack, we can see another round of booking window opening with higher price...creating artificial demand? no clue...

.... I don't know.. Y people do not stop under estimating Indians... for their work. When Indians can built such towers in rest of the world then Y not In India...... as per my knowledge and experience. 70% of the Human resources used to build Dubai Skyscrapers are Indian and probably from Andra Pradesh... from Labor to protect Manger.....

People Who don't have Confidence in self.. they even can not expect some good work from other... ...

STOP DE-MOTIVATING & UNDER ESTIMATING..

as far govt. permission for this project goes, well this company is owned by a political leader...so should not have been a problem in getting that.
