Costanera Centre: Santiago de Chile

The project, upon completion, will see South America's tallest skyscraper and Latin America's tallest office building. At 257 m height and encompassing 60 floors, this predominantly glass-based (anything new?) skyscraper will include 2 hotels, 1 mall, 2 markets, cinemas and parking spaces for approximately 4500 vehicles. The total cost of the project is an estimated US$ 300 million and was only announced a few days ago.


As always, retail and commecial stores spread across the floors fo convenience.

The Freedom Tower, NYC

Many may be wondering what happened to proposal of The Freedom Tower in New York City. It seems that by 2011, the tower's final height will be 541 m, and will have 108 floors. The Tower will encompass observation decks, world-class restaurants, two floors that will be occupied by the Metropolitan Television Alliance.


Much of the construction is going under steady pace and little being released to the media. We'll just have to see how it will look across the NY skyline!

Mani Square and IMAX - Calcutta

Kolkatta (Calcutta) has entered the race for urban development, and has planned a new project, The Mani Square, that will involve the construction of two blocks (4 and 14 storeys). The project will house an international style shopping mall, strategically placed on one of the busiest traffic ways. The neighbourhood will conveniently comprise of multi speciality hospitals, heritage parks, Cineplexes, five star hotels, residential blocks, and much more.

Exclusive brand outlets, deparmental stores, coffee shops, and quick service restaurants are just some of the range of services the complexes will offer.

The highlight of the project is the first and only IMAX screen in the city. Most of the other floors are expected to be used for business purposes and office floors.
